The first summer that I had no sport to train for since I was 5 was August 2010. My college baseball career had ended upon graduation, and my days of playing HS football and baseball were long behind me. I began searching for outlets to fill the gap…I never trained without a purpose to my training. I was utterly lost. I missed the camaraderie and motivation of being on a team.
Crushing bi’s and tri’s on Tuesday and legs and back on Thursday became very short-lived after one of my friends in the fitness industry turned me onto CrossFit. To me it just made sense…the movements, the atmosphere, the programming and the community. It was the “Team” I was looking for…I have never looked back since, and I eagerly strive to continue learning and passing along this knowledge to others.
To me, crossfit is about understanding movement patterns and placing functionality in fitness. To see people come into the gym, put in the work and have it translate in positive ways into daily life is priceless. There is nothing more rewarding than helping people break through goals and perceived limits…and begin to “Drink the CrossFit Kool-aid.”
