FAVORITE 12 LABOURS MEMORY:

So many good times to choose from. Overall, I just like the people, so I would say in 2022 when we went down to Knoxville and put together not 1 but 2 CrossFit Games semifinal events on back to back weekends. You’ll never witness a group of people more motivated and dedicated to a single purpose. We worked our butts off and we had a really fun time simultaneously.

OCCUPATION:

In real life, I’m a lawyer. I practice labor law and alternative dispute resolution for the U.S Border Patrol. I started as a border patrol agent in Nogales, Arizona in 2002. I also retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2019 having served four active duty tours, 3 in Iraq between 2003-2009. I just started as an adjunct professor of business law at Carroll Community College.

INTERESTING FACT:

I have never broken a bone, even when I fell 50ft climbing down a dry waterfall rock face and bouncing off two ledges. I got up and walked away.

WHY DO I COACH?

CrossFit has done so much for me in my life, from both the physical and mental health sides of things that I feel obligated and excited to pass that enthusiasm on to other people. The best part of coaching is watching people do things they never thought they could do.

FUNNY STORY THAT GOT YOU WHERE YOU ARE?

When I tried to join the Army at 17, I was 5’10” and 117lbs, so the Army wouldn’t take me because I was underweight. They gave me 2 weeks to go home and gain 2 pounds, but when I stepped on the scale after those 2 weeks it still said 117. I looked at the nurse doing my physical, hopped on the scale, and she said “oh, I saw it hit 119.”
